Injured in the knee since the beginning of May, Thomas Vanbauce spoke about his return to competition during the Bordeaux P2 qualifiers. Following his posterior cruciate ligament rupture, the French team player did not need to undergo surgery.

A return to the field within a month?

Thomas is still in a recovery protocol with a knee brace. This period is expected to last another month before he can remove it. As soon as Thomas can bend his leg beyond 90 degrees, he will be able to return to the courts by slowly resuming training. Hopefully, his knee will remain unaffected until the end of the season.

Back in time for the French championships

With a return, hopefully, for the month of September, Thomas Vanbauce also hopes participate in the French ChampionshipsThis year, these will take place near Mulhouse, from 19 21 in September 2025. And Roland-Garros? This is the question Mario Cordero asked Thomas about his return to competition:
"It seems a little more complicated to me, so it's not a goal I have in mind. Afterwards, if I'm ready to go, I'll go," says Thomas Vanbauce.

A shake-up for the French championships

Thomas Vanbauce's return to competition could have a significant impact on the 2025 French Championships. Thomas has assured that, if he is fit, he will play with Johan Bergeron. In this case, Bastien Blanqué would be forced to ask for other players to compensate for Thomas Leygue's injury. Thomas Vanbauce suggests several possibilities: Benjamin Grué, Dorian De Meyer or Nicolas Rouanet could play with Bastien Blanqué.

A return from injury that could therefore have a very significant impact on the organization of the 2025 French championships, at least for the players.
