It was one of the matches to follow this Tuesday at  Qatar Major , with a poster opposing two former figures of the circuit  A1 Padel  :  Tolito Aguirre and Gonzalo Alfonso , former number 1, facing the  first Portuguese pair , the  Deus brothers .

And it was the Portuguese who pulled off a great coup by winning in  two sets ,  7 / 6 6 / 4 , after nearly  1h50 of match  against the Argentinian pair. A victory that has a taste of  revenge , after their home defeat in the  FIP Gold of Paredes  in Portugal last February.

In this very contested meeting, the  first set tie-break  was undoubtedly a turning point. The Deus brothers went after it with character,  11/9 , gaining psychological advantage over their opponents.

For the Aguirre / Alfonso pair, it is a new  disillusionment  after disappointing results in  Miami P1  and  Santiago P1 . Used to dominating on the A1 circuit, they now measure the difficulty of  find regularity  in the tables Premier Padel, where the  competition is denser .

On their side,  the Deus brothers  confirm their good momentum. They will face the number 8 seed in the next round:  Leo Augsburger and Pablo Cardona.
