The circuit A1 Padel hit hard: All 2024 points of Tolito Aguirre and Gonzalo Alfonso have been deleted, relegating the Argentines to the 682nd place on the circuit with just one point. A decision which officially marks their exclusion from the top of the A1 ranking, where they were one of the dominant pairs in recent seasons.
This withdrawal immediately benefits Franco Dal Bianco and Maxi Arce, who recover world number 1 status on A1 Padel, although they did not face Aguirre and Alfonso this year.
A sanction that sounds like a definitive break
If no official announcement has been made by Tolito Aguirre et Gonzalo Alfonso, this sanction is a indirect confirmation of their departure from A1 Padel. For several weeks, the signs have been multiplying:
- The Argentines are chaining the FIP tournaments and Premier Padel, moving away from the A1 circuit.
- they have already missed several A1 steps Padel for the benefit of competitions FIP Gold and Platinum.
- They are registered in P2 of Cancun and P1 of Santiago, while a Grand Master A1 Padel is scheduled at the same time.
A strategic change of direction
The pair Aguirre / Alfonso is one of the first to take the step openly, and they have already harvested the fruits of their strategy with an entry in the top 60 FIP.
With their recent result at FIP Platinum Puebla, They now have a guaranteed place in the main draw of the tournaments Premier Padel. This decision of exit A1 Padel seemed inevitable.
A divisive debate
Otherwise, Aguirre and Alfonso are among the players criticized these last weeks for having gained points by taking advantage of the boycott of certain players Premier Padel on tournaments like Gijón and Cancún. Tolito had also responded with irony on Instagram:
“Champion opportunists! Like we’re the only pair to sign up for a tournament, right?”
With this ranking reset to zero on A1 Padel, it is now clear that The Magicos have no future on this circuit, and their future is definitely written on Premier Padel.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
