Big sensation at  P1000 Enjoy Padel The 4th seed  Tom Taieb / Timéo Fonteny  won the title by dominating the 2nd seed  Rémy Gourre / Tristan Piombo  on the score of  7 / 6 6 / 1 .

A huge victory, especially for  Tom Taieb , only  166th French player who is probably signing the biggest tournament of his young career.

 Tom Taieb impressed all weekend

The surprise of this tournament could only have come from him.

Already huge in the semi-final during the victory against the number 1 seed  Suzanna / Toppin Tom Taieb did it again in the final with another benchmark performance.

Of course, he was accompanied by a high-profile partner in the person of  Timeo Fonteny , ranked 3rd in France and clearly a cut above the rest in this tournament. But that doesn't detract at all from the immense performance Taieb delivered throughout the weekend.

Under the sun and the light breeze of  Lancon-Provence , the Enjoy's central court Padel witnessed a true demonstration from the number 4 seed.

 An extremely close first set

The start of the final is extremely balanced.

Neither team managed to create a clear break point opportunity, and the rallies were very close. The first set therefore logically went to a tiebreak.

In this crucial moment, Fonteny and Taieb made the difference to secure the victory.  7 points to 5 .

Of particular note: the enormous level displayed by  Timeo Fonteny who made virtually no unforced errors in this first round. A demonstration of technical mastery and consistency.

 A second one-sided round

We thought we were going to witness a huge battle in the second set… but the final is going to completely change course.

Step by step,  Remy Gourre  starts to accumulate unforced errors and the number 2 seed completely loses control of the match.

On the other side, Tom Taieb continues to gain momentum and clearly proves that he has the level for this match.

And behind him, Timéo Fonteny continues his recital. Technically flawless, ultra-clean in his choices and virtually error-free (only 3 unforced errors in this match), he raises the level even further in this second set.

Result: a demonstration concluding with a  6/1 .

A first P1000 for Tom Taieb

At the time of conclusion, the emotion was overwhelming for  Tom Taieb , who thus wins the very first  P1000  of her career.

A victory built on mental strength and, above all, an impressive level of play throughout the tournament:

  • victory against TS1 in the semi-final,
  • then a commanding victory against TS2 in the final.

A superb performance that could well mark a real turning point in his progress.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
