Alix Collombon and Léa Godallier will they succeed? four pass ? This is the stakes of the women's table of the final stages of the French Championship 2024 which take place this weekend at 4Padel from Strasbourg. Because if among men, the picture seems unlikely to be conducive to a major surprise (the Blanqué/Leygue pair are big favourites), the matter is not so settled on the girls' side, where Carla Touly and Jessica Ginier are clearly in ambush . And that's new!

Jessica Ginier and Carla Touly: 2 FIP Rises on the counter this season
Formed at the beginning of the year, the Touly/Ginier pair achieved a excellent season . Just days after announcing their joint project, the two players have thus imposed on FIP Rise Sweden I, dominating in the final the tournament's top seed (Armanda Girdo / Carla Rodriguez Sanchez) in two sets, 1/6 1/6. Since then, several results have come to demonstrate solidity and complementarity of the French pair: a quarter-final at the FIP Rise Pama Padel Nola in April, two semi-finals at the FIP Rise in Burriana and Barcelona in May, and finally a victory, in August, at the FIP Rise Box To Box from Bandol. During this last tournament, Carla Touly and Jessica Ginier outclassed the number 1 seed, Lucia Perez (98e at the FIP) and Ana Dominguez (80e): excuse me for saying so! These excellent results logically translate into FIP World Ranking : Jessica Ginier is there at 108e place, while Carla Touly is currently 97e.

Alix Collombon and Léa Godallier: solid references in 2024
The dynamic is a little different as for Alix Collombon and Léa Godallier, if only because the two players are no longer associated in international tournaments. This does not prevent in any way more than convincing results . Alix Collombon is currently at 28e place in the world rankings, and can boast of several feats of arms : a quarter-final at the FIP Gold in Valladolid in June, another at the FIP Platinium in Sardinia followed by a victory at FIP Gold Saltillo in July (each time with Julieta Bidahorria). As for Léa Godallier (57e world), a time away from the slopes due to maternity, she only made her return from April. She presents good references given this context, with in particular a Victory at the FIP Rise Mercedes Cup a month ago (with Giulia Sussarello).
A pair that has on the rise on one side, another which can boast of a solid international and national experience on the other hand: the face-to-face between Collombon/Godallier and Touly/Ginier, respectively TS1 and TS2, seems clearly announced for these 2024 French championships. Unless Fiona Ligi and Tiffany Phaysouphanh and Lucille Pothier and Charlotte Soubrié (respectively TS3 and 4) come and play spoilsport?
