Le Miami center court Premier Padel now bears the name of “Juan and Bela Trail”, in reference to Fernando Belasteguin and Juan Martin Diaz, who have made padel history as one of the most successful pairs on the circuit.
A tribute desired by Belasteguín
Initially, the plan was to name the court in honor of Belasteguín, today sports director of Motorola Razr Miami Premier Padel P1. However, the latter wished to associate Juan Martín Díaz to this recognition. Believing that their journey should be celebrated together, he contacted his former partner to offer to share this tribute, a proposal that Diaz immediately accepted.
A remarkable track record
Between 2002 and 2015, Juan and Bela won 170 tracks en 13 yearsincluding 22 consecutive wins between 2005 and 2007. After their separation, Belasteguín continued his career with Pablo Lima, adding 36 trophies to his record. For comparison, Lebron and Galan have accumulated 33 tracks before their separation, including 27 on the WPT and 6 on the circuit Premier Padel.
A look towards the future
At the inauguration of the Juan y Bela Trail, Belasteguín emphasized that the history of padel continues to evolve and that other pairs could one day see their names attributed to iconic courts.
This new name inscribes the central court of the Miami Premier Padel in the continuity of a significant period of professional padel, while leaving the door open to future generations.
