Two splits within a few hours could trigger another game of musical chairs on the tour. Following the announced end of Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini's partnership, Sanyo Gutiérrez has also confirmed that the Paris Major is his last tournament with Juanlu Esbrí. Consequently, one hypothesis naturally gains traction: Sanyo could team up with Garrido, while Esbrí might reunite with Bergamini.
Le Paris Major 2026 could well have reshuffled several cards in the men's transfer market.
It all started with Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini Eliminated in their opening match at Roland-Garros by Javi Martínez and Luis Hernández (6-1, 7-6), the pair officially announced the end of their run. Garrido himself announced the breakup on her social media after the meeting.
Then, on Wednesday evening, a second domino fell.
After the defeat of Sanyo Gutiérrez / Juanlu Esbrí against Thomas Leygue / Jesús Moya , 6/2 4/6 7/5, the Argentinian indicated that this was also their last tournament together.
Four players thus find themselves on the market almost simultaneously: Sanyo Gutiérrez, Juanlu Esbrí, Javi Garrido and Lucas Bergamini .
Sanyo / Garrido, a partnership that would make sense
It is obviously the first combination that attracts attention.
On the one hand, Sanyo , immense experience at the highest level and a player capable of orchestrating the game from the right. On the other hand, Javi Garrido A powerful, aggressive left-sided player capable of causing enormous damage when he regains his confidence.
On paper, the profiles appear complementary: Sanyo's game construction and reading combined with Garrido's power and offensive volume .
One important distinction remains, of course: At this stage, this association has not been officially announced. Therefore, we should be talking about a potential transfer target, not a new pairing that has already been formed.
What if Esbrí found Bergamini?
If Sanyo and Garrido were indeed to join forces, another possibility would immediately become interesting: Juanlu Esbrí / Lucas Bergamini .
And unlike a completely new partnership, the two men they already know each other very well .
They had shared the track in 2024 , including a semi-final appearance at the Madrid P1. Their adventure was ultimately cut short when Bergamini received an offer from… Javi Garrido .
The Brazilian later explained that it had been difficult to leave Esbrí when the results were good, but that the opportunity to play with Garrido, who was then established in the top 10, was impossible to refuse.
Two years later, the market could therefore cause a surprising return to square one.
A real domino effect after Paris
The scenario would be almost perfectly symmetrical: Garrido would leave Bergamini to join Sanyo, while Bergamini would rejoin Esbrí , the player he had just left to join forces with Garrido.
For now, the puzzle remains to be completed.
One thing, however, is certain: the separations of Garrido / Bergamini et Sanyo / Esbrí are now confirmed and open up several possibilities for the rest of the season. Garrido and Bergamini are still both on the list of Rotterdam P2 which could constitute their last joint appearance before the formation of new projects.
Le Germany P2 Scheduled from October 5 to 11, it could then be the first tournament allowing the discovery of new associations.
And among the combinations to watch out for, Sanyo Gutierrez / Javi Garrido now appears as one of the most interesting avenues, with a possible return of the Esbrí / Bergamini duo in parallel.
