The women's semi-final of Tarragona Premier Padel P1 lived up to all expectations. Despite an initial psychological advantage for Bea González and Claudia Fernández, who led 4-1 in the head-to-head matches and seemed full of confidence after their title in Malaga, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea were able to use their experience to win 7/6 3/6 7/6 after a tremendous battle.

A tense first set, concluded in a tie-break

The start of the match is marked by breaks and debreaks.  Claudia Fernández  rushes a little but is carried by a large  Bea González They manage to claw back their break each time. The end of the set is neutralized, the games are extremely close but it ends in a tie-break.

In this one, Triay, who we saw a little behind in this set, tightens up the game. Opposite,  Claudia  collapses a little, chaining unforced errors, well maneuvered by  Delfi Brea  who takes the upper hand in his diagonal. Which allows his team to win this tie-break.

Bea and Claudia are back in full swing

Break at 2/2 in the second. The players of  Rodri Ovide  force unforced errors. Bea is just too strong: she hits par 3s off the line. A slow-paced, strange match, dominated this time by Béa and Claudia. But a few errors from Triay turn the set around.

The third act turns to the advantage of the number 2s

The third round is a tense one. Bea and Claudia continue their good momentum. Claudia reduces her unforced errors and Bea continues to take up a lot of space on the track.

Break at 4/3 for  Bea and Claudia , but the next game they tremble with unusual errors to conclude.  Triay and Brea  take advantage of this to break. The set ends in a tie-break, this time dominated by Gemma and Delfi in the important points.

Pair No. 2 heads towards a new final

A crazy, tense match, where Bea and Claudia tremble at times. Statistically, they prove more effective than Triay/Brea, but not on key points.

Gemma Triay & Delfina Brea number 1?

And now? Yes  Josemaría and Sánchez  lose their semi-final, or lose in the final,  Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay  will become the world's number one news. So everything is still to play for.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
