A new padel complex is expected to open in Elne, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, by 2027. The project is being led by the directors of  French Padel Club Perpignan , which are continuing to develop their activities in the department after several initiatives undertaken since 2024.

An adventure launched in Perpignan

The project's origins date back to 2024, when  Quentin Boronad  et  Yann Loupetis  take over the club  Central Padel , located on Avenue Panchot in Perpignan. Their objective is then to modernize the infrastructure and structure its operation in a context where padel is experiencing rapid growth in France.

Both from local entrepreneurial families, they approach this takeover with a long-term vision. Padel, they explain, “represents an accessible, intergenerational and team sport, capable of bringing together a very wide audience.”

In the Boronad family, sports are deeply rooted. Quentin Boronad, who notably played for the USAP youth team, now manages the Perpignan club and is preparing to oversee the development of future facilities. His brother  Yoan Boronad , four-time French junior champion, continues his career at the highest national level. Currently  7th French player and member of the French national team He regularly competes on the international circuit, often alongside  Timeo Fonteny , 5th French player.

The Loupetis family's commitment is also collective. Known locally for the Loupetis pizzeria, the family participates in the project at several levels.  Cédric Loupetis  contributes to the club's operations, while  Dimitri Loupetis , a qualified padel instructor currently in Guadeloupe, is expected to join the team to work on the future Canet site.

A gradual structuring

In 2025, the two leaders took a further step with the acquisition of the e-commerce platform.  FrenchPadelShop.com Now based in Perpignan, this online store is part of the overall development of the project.

Led by Yann Loupetis, the platform offers padel equipment with a service based in France: local logistics management, customer service, and player advice. The goal is also to create a link between online sales and physical clubs, where players can test the equipment and interact with the staff.

This complementarity between  club, physical store and digital platform  constitutes one of the development axes of the project.

From Perpignan to Canet-en-Roussillon, then Elne

Following the takeover of the Perpignan club, a second complex is currently under construction in  Canet-en-Roussillon , with an opening announced for  September 2026  with air-conditioned spaces and various services for players.

The project of Elne , planned for  2027 This would represent a third location for the facility. Ultimately, the complex could encompass  more than twenty padel courts  in the department.

In a context of proliferating infrastructure in France, and particularly in the Pyrénées-Orientales, the project's promoters state their intention to "move forward gradually in order to consolidate each stage of development." The objective is, in particular, to maintain a consistent quality of service and facilitate access to facilities through a unified booking system.

A project rooted in the local area

Located in a region where padel is experiencing a surge in popularity, the project is built on strong local roots. The leaders aim to develop a community of players around the clubs while gradually structuring their operations.

Developing a sports complex also involves significant management, organizational, and investment work. Project managers emphasize the importance of maintaining a balance between infrastructure growth and fostering a vibrant community of players.

A new phase is planned for 2027.

With the planned opening of the Elne club, the  French Padel Club  This would continue its expansion in the Pyrénées-Orientales. After Perpignan and Canet-en-Roussillon, this third structure would complete a network of clubs dedicated to the development of padel in the department.
