The third tournament of the season Premier Padel is about to start at Cancún, in Mexico. After this first Mexican stage, the players will return in a few months to Acapulco for the Mexico Major. In the meantime, here's what this P2 of Cancun.

A Stupaczuk / Lebrón vs Tolito / Gonza final in sight?

The draw placed Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebrón on one side of the board and Tolito Aguirre and Gonzalo Alfonso on the other. This opens the door to a highly anticipated finale between these two pairs.

Stupa and Lebron are the big favourites for the tournament, although their decision to play the event has sparked debate within the PPA. Opposite, The Magicians, just crowned at FIP Platinum Puebla, arrive in great shape and want to continue to prove their worth on the personalised tour Premier Padel.

Other teams will also have their say in the title race. Diego Garcia and Curro Cabeza, winners at Gijón, are the 2nd seed and could cross paths with Tolito and Gonza in the semi-finals. In the upper part of the table, Gustavo Nunes and Miki Solbes, seeded 4, will try to play spoilsport against the favorites.

A more open women's table in the absence of González and Fernández

For the ladies, the main information is the Bea González and Claudia Fernández forfeit, who chose not to travel to Mexico to avoid physical overload. Their absence opens the fight for the title, although all the other major teams will be present in Cancun.

A key match could take place in semi final, with a possible confrontation between Gemma Triay / Delfina Brea et Andrea Ustero / Alejandra AlonsoThe latter, freshly titled in Puebla, continue their rise and will seek to shake up the hierarchy.

Seurin and Raichman, a complicated but affordable first round

Two French people will be at final table in Cancun: Julien Seurin (167) and Philemon Raichman (177)They had a good match in the first round against the seeded pair. 8, Clément Geens (96) and Alejandro Jerez Carnero (173). A match that was not easy but not impossible to win for the Tricolores.

In case of victory, their round of 16 seems playable, since they would face the winner of the match between Juan Manuel Argañaras (151) / Oscar Matias Almada (148) et Youssef Hossam (145) / Julian Lacamoire (156), players with a ranking close to theirs.

If Seurin and Raichman manage to overcome these obstacles and rise to quarterfinal, the mission will become much more difficult, since they would find Juan Lebrón and Franco Stupaczuk.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
