Benjamin Tison and Maxime Forcin made an impression in their entry into the Bordeaux P2 qualifiers, winning 6/2 7/5 against the Spanish-Emirati pair Adrian Ronco Lopez / Jose Roman Martinez Sanchis. A solid performance, but above all a symbolic victory, because they become the first French to beat a foreign pair during the qualifications in Bordeaux.

A curse broken

Until now, only one all-French duel had allowed the French to advance a round: Joris / Vanbauce.

Tison smiled:

"Unfortunately, yes. But I admit I didn't think about it before the match. I wasn't even supposed to play those scenes again. And finding myself here, in Bordeaux, with Max, I'm having a blast. We're undefeated together, let's enjoy ourselves!"

A duo under construction… already effective

Less accustomed to major tournaments than his partner, Maxime Forcin didn't seem impressed:

"It's certainly not every day that you play in this setting. But I really enjoyed it. And with Ben, things are going really well on the pitch."

The two Frenchmen delivered a first serious round, before a lull at the start of the second.

“The conditions are slow, we have to build on each point. In the second set, they change tactics, play more on me. I have some doubts. But at 3/0, Pablo (Ayma) reassures me: “Your grid is perfect, you're losing points because you're less patient.” Max, on the other hand, never lost.

A reference to take, whatever the outcome

This victory against two experienced opponents has a special flavor:

"I knew the player on the left. He had beaten Dylan and Bastien in Rome, so I knew he shouldn't be underestimated. Winning against this type of player is a real benchmark. And it's our first victory against Spanish players together, so it's cool."

Next up, the French will face the winners of Seux / Courrin: Ayats / Rico.

"Now it's all a bonus. We're gaining experience, we're having fun. And above all, we're playing together at a great level."

The atmosphere is heating up in Bordeaux, and the French duo hope to extend the adventure a little longer.
To be continued... tomorrow on the track. Perhaps for the last match of the day. Perhaps for another surprise.
