What a scenario in Valencia! After an absolutely crazy final between the two best pairs in the world,  Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia  once again had the last word against  Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto .

In this 35th encounter between the two duos, the world number 1s prevailed after 2 hours and 15 minutes of play with a score of  6/7 6/1 7/6 , at the end of a match where they were on the verge of defeat before turning around an almost hopeless situation.

 Chingotto's injury changes the start of the match 

The match could even have turned very early on.

From the very first games, Federico Chingotto attempted a spectacular off-court error. While trying to retrieve a ball far from the court, the Argentinian collided with an advertising board and twisted his ankle.

The match was interrupted for several minutes. Chingotto received treatment and returned to the court with significant ankle strapping. A worrying image that suggested his final might be over.

But the world number 2 refuses to give up.

Despite reduced mobility, he continues the match and, paradoxically, it is Galán and Chingotto who get the best start.

 A perfect strategy for Galán and Chingotto 

Very tactically intelligent, the world's number 2s quickly find the right formula.

The objective is simple: to limit Chingotto's movements as much as possible while giving Galán more offensive responsibilities.

The plan works perfectly. Chingotto repeatedly lobs Tapia parallel to force him to smash from awkward positions. Then, Galán locks down the net and punishes any mistake.

On the other side, Tapia and Coello seem unsettled by their opponent's injury and are struggling to find their rhythm.

The first set remained extremely close before a tie-break perfectly controlled by Galán and Chingotto, who logically took control of the final.

Down but not out, Tapia and Coello reacted immediately.

In the second set, the world number ones regained their usual aggression and intensity. Conversely, the efforts expended in the first set began to take their toll on Galán and Chingotto's legs.

The games fly by and the world number ones catch up thanks to a severe  6/1 .

 A completely crazy third set 

The decisive round then offers a completely unexpected scenario.

Galán and Chingotto resume their attack despite the Argentinian's pain. Tapia alternates between moments of brilliance and some more complicated passages, allowing the world number 2s to take the lead.

À  5/3 Galán and Chingotto even serve for the match.

The final seems to be within their grasp.

But it is precisely at this moment that Tapia and Coello demonstrate why they have dominated world padel for more than two seasons.

They break back at the best moment and push the match into a nail-biting tie-break.

 From 1-5 to 8-6: the final turnaround 

In the decisive game, Galán takes matters into his own hands.

The Madrid player strings together winning smashes and allows his team to quickly take off.  5-1 .

Valencia then thought they were going to see the world's number 2 lift the trophy.

But Tapia refuses to give in.

The Argentinian suddenly rediscovered his best form and produced several spectacular shots. Winning smashes followed one after another, Coello also regained his full effectiveness, and the world number ones clawed their way back point by point.

They completely turned the tie-break around to ultimately win.  8 points to 6 .

An exceptional comeback that gives them a new title against their biggest rivals.

 A success that counts double 

This victory allows Tapia and Coello to secure a second consecutive win against Galán and Chingotto and to regain a psychological advantage in this rivalry.

The world number 2 players nevertheless retain the advantage in head-to-head matches this season with a record of  4 wins to 3 .

For Tapia and Coello, this title is also crucial in the Race to London standings. A defeat would have cost them their provisional first place. Thanks to this victory, they consolidate their lead.

The statistics keep coming in: the world's number ones were competing in Valencia  24rd consecutive final , an absolute record on the circuit.

Finally, this victory marks a symbolic step for  Arturo Coello who, at only 24 years old, achieved the  50th title of his professional career .

As for Galán and Chingotto, the frustration is immense. Despite Chingotto's injury and a tactically remarkable final, they came very close to a huge achievement.

But once again, when all seemed lost, Tapia and Coello found the mental resources to turn the tide of the match.
