La reconversion sportsmen from high level is a subject that is increasingly highlighted. However, there is still work to be done on this to prepare athletes for their “second life”.

This is valid in all sports. All top-level athletes must ask themselves this question in order to best prepare for the end of their career.

Handball player Valentin Porte tells us a few words: "My career change? Why not a professional golfer or padel player? With my new partner Rémi Desbonnet, there may be a new career open to me. And it's no joke, we're among the 500 best French players. We've formed a duo and it's going pretty well. Anyway, we'll see things more clearly when the health restrictions are completely lifted."

We already know that Valentin Porte is a padel fan. Interviewed by Robin Haziza during the first confinement, he had declared wanting to progress as much as possible in this sport. If his 500th place in the French ranking is honorable, there is still a long way to go to get closer to the level of professional players. But for an athlete of this level, the stages are obviously easier to overcome than for an amateur. Especially since this left-hander, only 30 years old, has serious arguments to make from the height of his meter 90! We imagine for example that it must not lack power on high balls!

Valentin’s originality: left-handed in handball, he plays with his right hand in padel!

In any case, we are all looking forward to the health conditions being completely lifted so that we can resume the previous rhythm and continue to progress. The future will tell us if this international handball player can continue to climb the ladder to get closer to the elite of French padel!
