La Plaza Mayor houses the town hall of the city: the Town Hall of Valladolid. Designed by Juan Sanz de Escalante, its construction lasted 15 years, from 1562 to 1577. Unfortunately destroyed in 1879, the building was rebuilt and inaugurated in 1908.
