The world number 1 Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría gave the surprise duo Martina Calvo / Aranza Osoro no chance in Valladolid P2 semi-finalIn a heated Plaza Mayor, the Spanish women delivered a very solid performance, winning 6/2 6/1 in 1 hour and 26 minutes of play.
Domination from start to finish
Already victorious in this face-off in Buenos Aires, Ari and Paula quickly took control of the rallies thanks to better management of important points (6 breaks converted from 10 opportunities), a surgical attack (43 winning points in total), and a much cleaner defense than that of their opponents (only 9 unforced errors against 22 for Calvo / Osoro).
Led by a Ariana Sánchez In great form, the number 1 pair once again demonstrated why they are number 1.

Martina Calvo, a promising young woman
Despite the defeat, Martina Calvo continues to impress. 16 years and 11 months, she was already arguing her second semi-final on the circuit Premier Padel, having climbed from 158th to 34th in the world in less than a year. Partnered with Aranza Osoro for what could be one of their last tournaments together, the young Spaniard did not disgrace herself... but the step was simply too high today.
A pair in search of revenge
For Sánchez and Josemaría, it was the 28rd consecutive semi-final together on the circuit. They will aim for a 25rd final, and maybe a 15th title on the circuit Premier Padel. Note that if Ari has already won in Valladolid (in 2019), Paula, she has already argued there three finals without ever winning…An extra motivation to win the title on Sunday.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
