Virginia Riera decided to change strategy after her association with Marta Marrero, which did not give the expected results. Rather than continuing with an experienced player, she is now banking on the youth by associating with Raquel Eugenio (17 years).

Why this choice ?

Raquel Eugenio has been playing with Maria Eulalia Rodriguez Abajo. Both players achieved great performances, especially with a quarter-final at P2 in Brussels. But their collaboration ended after this tournament.

Left without a partner after this separation, Raquel was chosen by Virginia Riera to form a new pair. Riera, after having tried the “experimental” option with Marrero, this time wants to bet on the freshness and potential of a player in full progression.

An imminent start

The Riera/Eugenio duo hasn't made its official debut yet, but it won't be long. For now, Eugenio is registered this week for FIP Silver Alcalá de Guadaira with his former partner Maria Eulalia Rodriguez, while Riera recovers from a calf injury.

Their first steps together are planned for Buenos Aires P1, which will take place just after the P2 of Asuncion (in which they do not participate).

A bet on youth

By choosing Raquel Eugenio, Virginia Riera takes a different direction after her collaboration with Marrero. She focuses on theEnergy and Ambition of the young player to relaunch her season.

To support them in this new project, they will be able to count on the experience of their coaches. Manuel Navarro Ortiz et Augustin Gomez Silingo.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
