Present at  Silk Sets Padel from Narbonne  to accompany his player  Laura Buteau  and their partner in  FIP   Luisa Roque de Pinho , the coach  Alexandre Prevert  granted a long interview without detour to  Padel Magazine .

At a time  technical ,  emotional  et  policy , Alexandre returns to  the state of mind of his duo , the  mental difficulties   high level , the  structural limits of the FIP circuit  and the  economic reality  players  outside the world top 100 .

A return match expected after a “thumping”

After a resounding victory in the first round, Alexandre talks about  the state of mind of his team  a few minutes before facing in  1/8th final  another  Spanish pair from the top 70 .

 “We're playing against Nuria Vivancos / Xenia Clasca Vidiella (ESP), seeded 5th. Two weeks ago, we lost 6-0 6-1. I thought everything was poorly prepared: the attitude, the management, the match itself, including on my part.” 

That day he had laid things out with  Laura  et  Luisa , by asking a  clear requirement  :  no longer travel to suffer More  to perform .

 “I told the girls: we're not going to spend the year traveling together to get beaten up every time a top seed is against us. It's not the level that bothers me, it's not giving ourselves the means to do better.” 

Alexandre Prévert returns to the  tense debrief during the warm-up , just before  entry into competition .

 “We did a practice session with Lucile Pothier and Louise Bahurel, who lent us the track at the last minute. It's always nice to feel this solidarity among French people. But I saw some behavior on our side that I didn't like. My girls play well, but as soon as it goes wrong, they complain. We don't build on what works. There's no energy, no smiles, no encouragement.” 

He insists:  it's not a question of level .

 “It's not the quality of padel that worries me. I know what they can do; I saw them perform against top 40 players in Valladolid (P2). They're great. What I want to see is if we're capable of playing every high-level match to win it. Today, I'm not sure. And that includes myself.” 

Prévert goes on to explain that  the issue is not necessarily to win More  to have a clear intention .

 “You can lose, but if you lose after giving it your all, after showing grit, concentration, and intensity, then you've made progress. What I can't stand is traveling so much, putting in so much effort, and not producing anything substantial on the track.” 

A requirement for consistency

The exchange with the players was  franc . Prévert asked for a  immediate change of posture .

 “What I want in this match isn't for everything to work, but for every positive point to make noise. I want it to be shouted, celebrated, and taken up space. And anything that's missed, we move on. We're in a cycle of progression, not a courtroom.” 

He emphasizes the  need to take responsibility , especially when you want  exist at the high level .

 “We can't afford to have half-hearted phases. You can't score three points with motivation, then two games where you just slide by. That's not acceptable when you're a professional padel player. And Laura and Louisa are. So am I. We have to behave like a serious and ambitious team that wants to progress.”
