THE PRICE of a plot of padel : Elected officials and technical services of local authorities, private investors, club managers requested and wishing to build a land of padel naturally arise question of price.

The answer to this question cannot be categorical because it requires, as we will see, an in-depth examination of the file. Pascal AUCOUTURIER, the President of Padelshort SAS therefore returns to this topical subject.

  • The building blocks of padel:
    • Choice of type padel: standard or panoramic (without posts at the back of the court)
    • Quality of the constituent elements: section and thickness of the posts, type of galvanization and lacquering, thickness of the tempered glass panels (10 or 12 mm), section of the wires of the protective mesh, etc.
    • The equipment of the padel : type of lawn (sanded or not) and product quality, LED lighting, benches, electric strike locks with access code (ADOC FFT compatible), lighting management by rechargeable badge reader, etc.
  • The location:
    • To be taken into account for the transport of the elements by semi-trailer truck but also for the determination of the required quality: for example at the seaside the metallic elements must receive a surface treatment resistant to sea air, the posts and the glass panels must have sections allowing them to resist strong winds, the anchor beams must be oversized…
  • The location:
    • It will be necessary to check the possibility of access from the site to semi-trailer trucks and, if not, to assess the additional cost involved.
    • For an indoor installation, it will be necessary to check the accessibility of handling equipment.
  • The type of construction: New construction (ex nihilo) or implantation on an existing ground.
    • A new construction requires, outdoors, to carry out:
      • earthworks,
      • a foundation
      • pouring a porous concrete slab (essential for rapid recovery after rain)
      • the construction of a sill peripheral to the ground (61 ml) to receive the plates of the posts of the frame of the padel.

A new indoor construction could be made of 15 cm thick solid concrete, which will make it possible to overcome the construction of stringers.

  • Installation on an existing floor (most often an old tennis court) requires:

# Outdoors:

  • pouring a sill.
  • the preparation of the support to restore it to its original porosity and the rectification of its flatness to ensure the installation of a synthetic grass without risk of false rebounds.

NB: A tennis court measuring 18 mx 36 m and a padel 20m long x 10m wide, it is possible to foresee a possible widening which would allow 3 padels on an old court.

# Indoors:

  • Above all, it is necessary to check the height under ceiling, the flatness of the surface, the nature and the thickness of the existing screed and to determine if the construction of sills is necessary.

NB: The future owner of padel must be well aware that there are several insurance possibilities to guarantee it and that the amount of this insurance impacts the amount of the estimate proposed by the manufacturer.

It should be recalled that the ten-year capitalization guarantee (in reinsurance with a company) is the only one which allows it to be covered even in the event of the disappearance of the company..

Let us not forget that there are labels specific to France with " Qualisport et Quality Plan Padel (FFT) ". The structures which have one of the two labels are supposed to be companies considered capable of carrying out a project. Padel in order to bring a certain serenity to the investor.

Let us not forget either that “the lowest bidder is not necessarily the best bidder”!

The consideration of these reflections shows that it would not be responsible to give a priori a price for the realization of a padel since taking into account the various criteria specific to each project can lead to a range of prices which can go up toup to 60 euros.
