Winners of  Riyadh P1  at the start of the season against  Galan / Chingotto ,  Agustín Tapia  et  Arturo Coello  have started their year as they finished the previous one: with a title in the  superclásico .

A success that echoes the one achieved a year earlier in the Saudi capital, during a final postponed to Monday due to the weather, this time against  Stupa / Lebron .

A final played with a torn ligament

At the microphone  Padel Review Tapia revealed that he played in the 2025 final with a  rupture of a finger ligament , an injury that prevented him from playing normally and that carried a risk of relapse.

“I’ve never talked about this before, but last year in the final in Riyadh, I tore a ligament in my finger. The break helped me because I couldn’t play again. There was a risk that the injury would come back, but one of the solutions we tested was to add thickness to the handle of the racket so that the grip would be wider and I would be in less pain.”

To continue, the Argentinian and his staff adapted the equipment with a  thicker handle , in order to limit the pain on impact.

A season managed despite the physical constraints

Despite this context, Tapia continued to play in tournaments with Coello, competing in the majority of matches and maintaining the  world number 1 place  for the third consecutive season.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
