We told you about it a little while ago, last weekend the Spanish Championships of padel in pairs. You will see that, unlike their male counterparts, the favorites were at the rendezvous of the semi-finals!

Semi-finals of dreams! This is what the fans who came in number to Ciudad Real for the thirty-fifth Spanish Championships received this weekend. The best players of the World Padel Tour were present at the meeting. On one side we had Alejandra Salazar and Ariana Sanchez against Lucia Sainz and Gemma Triay. On the other Marta Marrero and Marta Ortega against Majo Alayeto and Paula Josemaría.

In the first semifinal, these are Lucia Sainz and Gemma Triay who managed to snatch victory facing pair number 2 of the World Padel Tour (4/6 7/6 6/3). Perhaps Ariana Sanchez and Alejandra Salazar had left a little too much juice in a very hung quarter-final against Pati Llaguno and Eli Amatriain (6/3 2/6 6/4).

The second semifinal was a little less hung as Paula Josemaría and Majo Alayeto dominated both Marta in two sets (6 / 3 6 / 4). Both players have recidivated in the final, where they defeated Sainz and Triay, certainly still dull after their semi-final, also in two sets (6/4 6/4).

Paula Josemaría and Majo Alayeto are the champions of Spain 2019. A very nice performance when you know that this pair was formed for the occasion! Indeed, Majo's twin, Mapi, gave up the competition to rest her shoulder, which kept her away from the field for a good part of the season in, to be ready for the Master. For her part, Paula Josemaría, who is competing in the WPT with the Portuguese Ana Catarina Nogeira, had to find a Spanish partner for these championships ... An unprecedented pair that worked perfectly, the two players having not lost a set from the competition !
