Despite the health crisis, the World Padel Tour has succeeded in making the 2020 season take place, but some have not supported the chain of tournaments.

9 tournaments in 4 and a half monthsEither a tournament every two weeks, a very high rate, which will have enabled the World Padel Tour not to have a white season in this season of health crisis. But not all bodies will have endured this sequence.

Although the players kept each other to the maximum during the first confinement, this long period without playing and without being able to perform optimal physical work, begins to be felt more and more. Especially since the sequence of tournaments and the fatigue generated by travel, often does not allow players to train as they would like during the season.

So in this context of less well prepared players and more frequent tournaments, we are witnessing many injuries at the end of the season, and in recent weeks, it has been girls who are particularly affected ! Ariana Sanchez, Victoria Iglesias, Bea Gonzalez, Marta Marrero, Lucia Martinez, Angela Caro Cantin, Gala Leon, not to mention Cette Reiter earlier in the season…

The boys weren't completely spared either., since among those who play the main tables of the WPT, Cristian Gutierrez, Lucas Campagnolo, Mati Diaz or more recently Lucho Capra all experienced more or less serious muscle injuries in 2020, often indicative of a state of generalized fatigue.

For those who have also carried out the FIP tournaments, and local competitions, it is more than 4 months to play in competition every week. We remember that after the FIP sequence and World Padel Tour in Sardinia, P2000 at the Pyramids, then WPT de Menorca, the body of the champion of France Johan Bergeron had also said stop.

Between players who catch Covid-19 and those whose body can not support the sequence of matches, this end of the season puts the bodies to the test. Hopefully there will be no serious injury by the end of the year!
