Our two French teams lost in the semi-finals of the world championships padel senior plus 2022 in Las Vegas. All is not lost, since they can still both come back with the bronze.

Remobilization against Sweden

Our French women will certainly wake up with a little disappointment. Faced with Italy, France was not far from passing and replaying against Spain. She certainly had the capacity, but it was played with so little…

Defeat 2/1: and it was finally during the first match that it was decided, with Géraldine Sorel and Emmelien Lambregts who lost in the super tie-break 10/6.

Line Meites, the captain, wants the French team to think now about this bronze medal which is reaching out to them:

"Against Italy, France was not far away. Now it's behind us, and we have to remobilise. Because all is not lost. There is this little final and this medal to go for."

France are favorites but watch out for the Swedes.

Argentina far too strong for the French

The captain of the men's team, Jean-Thomas Peyrou, had warned: “against Argentina, it will be very complicated”.

Opposite, we had former world champions anyway!

  • +55: Jose Carlos VALLE - Jorge ROLDAN vs Jean-Marc LAGLOIRE - Olivier LAUNO: 6/0 6/4
  • +50: Sebastian PINTO – Roberto GATTIKER vs Stéphane VOULFOR – Cyril BORONAD: 6/2 6/3
  • +45: Gustavo BRINER - Damian DIEZ vs Romain COIRAULT - Christophe HENRY: 4/6 6/3 7/6

The captain of the France team gives us his impressions of this confrontation:

“Cyril and Stéphane played against two former stars of the padel worldwide, namely Pinto and Gattiker. And they managed to match against these dinosaurs of the padel.

The Coirault/Henry match is definitely the match of the tournament. Unfortunately, it does not end in our favor, but they fought until the end to try to recover this famous point of hope. Defeat in the third set tie-break. Special mention to Christophe Henry who plays an incredible game for us.

Now we have a medal to go for.”

As for the ladies, the gentlemen will play against the Swedes for third place.
