The players of World Padel Tour train hard in order to be on top of the round. Except that for the moment the WPT has not yet communicated the 2021 calendar ...

No tournament the first weekend of March

Usually the World Padel Tour at least reveal his calendar one month before the first tournament of the season. This was the case in 2020 since the calendar was released on January 31, for a start of hostilities on March 1. The resumption tournament in Marbella was even announced in mid-January. A period of at least one month-one month applies to allow players to adapt the content of their training and to arrive in the best possible shape for the first tournament of the year.

World padel Tour Marbella 2019

We can therefore legitimately think that the recovery will not not held the first week of March this yeare. With Europe still in the midst of a pandemic, the WPT certainly thought that it was wiser to wait in particular for the effect of the vaccines to be felt a little in order to be able to start the season in the least complicated possible context.

A very busy schedule in 2021

In view of the different perimeter confinements which are applied in Spain, it seems indeed wiser to wait a little longer. Until when ? If we believe the latest WPT press release on Challenger tournaments, we should know more very soon. It must be said that with 6 Challenger planned, the more the new category of FIP tournaments, the year should be busy for professional players, especially if the World Padel Tour returns to 16 tournaments. Not to mention that in 2021 will take place a world championship, and two European championships!

Le World Padel Tour will therefore have to resume soon enough to be able to allow the players who play the FIP circuit, the Challenger, and the international championships to have some rest periods during the year and toavoid too great a risk of injury...

In view of all this information, we can predict a recovery at the beginning of April, or even at the end of March. In Marbella once again? We'll have to wait a little longer ...
