WPT and FIP: An association that appeals!

La International Federation of Padel succeeded in 2 years what she had never managed to do in 6 years: Find a political consensus and a similar direction with the World Padel Tour.

Today, the FIP and the WPT have thus created an environment which allows all players to padel to be able to get a world ranking via FIP TOUR.

What is the FIP Tour?

The FIP Tour was set up by the FIP and the WPT. The objective being to be able to unify a circuit, a classification and to allow the fans to have a better visibility on the padel international.

How to participate in the FIP Tour?

There are 7 categories of tests padel inside the FIP TOUR. The first 4 categories are those managed directly by the World Padel Tour with in particular the Challenger, the Open, Master and the Master Final.

Then we have 3 types of events managed by the FIP: FIP PROMOTION, FIP RISE et FIP STAR. The FIP STAR tournaments are the most popular tournaments, while the FIP PROMOTION, are mainly national events which offer a few points to the finalists.

The FIP TOUR events are accessible to all. The objective is precisely to allow as many people as possible to participate in these events. The higher the stage naming, the higher the level will be. A FIP RISE allows the competition to be assured of having players participating in preprevias and even previas of the World Padel Tour. This shows the level that can be reached by participating in the FIP TOUR.

The FIP Tour opens doors

The FIP Tour is a great springboard for many players who want to participate in the World Padel Tour. And our French show that they can do great things.

The ladies are not outdone, since the pair Invernon / Sorel will also succeed in winning the Angers FIP.

The FIP Tour has also become a way of being able to move in many countries and to glean precious points to pass caps on the circuit of World Padel Tour. A win-win between the FIP and the WPT.

But it's also a good way to show off beauty padel in the world. Before the forced end of the FIP TOUR due to the health crisis, the FIP offered us stages all over the world. The participants of these events could thus win points to be part of the world ranking and be part of this large family of ranked players.

A FIP TOUR which allows a unified classification

For many years, we found ourselves with a double classification: that of World Padel Tour and that of the International Federation of padel.

But since July 2019, it's been a closed case! Both institutions have successfully merge rankings. Visibility applauded by all stakeholders padel.

Certainly the padel institutional does not always come out of its quarrels. But let us remember that our institutions are also capable of beautiful reconciliations where the world of padel is victorious.

We hope that the FIP TOUR will resume as soon as possible. The Angers FIP has been renewed and should take place at the end of November 2020. We will come back to this great international tournament in France very soon.
