This Thursday was held the 1 / 8th finals of the WPT Barcelona Master in the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.

The Catalan capital witnessed a day rich in padel where the beautiful game was once again at the rendezvous.

Indeed, like the WPT Cascais or the very last one which took place in Sardinia, the favorites provided the spectacle with sometimes speedy victories.

Bela and Sanyo the revenge

If there is one pair that we were expecting during this competition, it is this one.

Eliminated in 1/16 and 1/8 final in the last two tournaments, the two Argentines seemed to be losing ground lately.
Exit from previous events by Germani / Nieto first then by Lamperti / Yanguas a week later, number 2 absolutely wanted to take revenge on their executioners.

Sanyo Gutierrez smatch against Yanguas Barcelona matser

And here it is!

Sanyo Gutierrez and Fernando Belasteguin managed to set the record straight!
After an intense match in 3 sets the two legends snatch victory from their opponents, ”Los Miguel”, 6-7 / 6-4 / 6-4.
They will be opposed tomorrow morning to the finalists of the last tournament, Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno.

Very fit, the Hispano-Argentinian pair seems to find its marks on the track and the bond between the two players is felt more and more over the days.
This announces a very good game.

Juan Martin Diaz, package

Injured the day before, the 9-time world champion was forced to throw in the towel and withdraw from the competition, leaving the qualification in the quarterfinals to his opponents Galan and Lebron.

They will face in quarter the champions of the WPT Sardinia, Franco Stupazcuk and Alejandro Ruiz. Here again, it's a hot match that promises to be!

The only surprise of the day is to be credited to Francisco Gil and Jesus Moya, who, for their first tournament together, knock out 8-seeded Gonzalez / Rico. A victory in two sets (7/6 7/5) for Gil and Moya, who will face each other tomorrow at Federico Chingotto and Juan Tello !

Nice course for Alix Collombon

Among the ladies, it's the same song, the favorites provided the show and won their ticket for the quarters.

French side, Alix Collombon, the only survivor at this stage of the competition, faced with her partner Jessica castello the formidable Lucia Sainz and Beatriz Gonzalez.

Despite an intense second set, the Franco-Spanish pair had to surrender and capitulate to the Spanish machine they had in front.
The game ended with a score of 6-2 / 7-5.

Other qualified, Las Martas, which in recent weeks seem to be recovering and returning to their best level.
The Alayeto sisters have also managed to pull out of the game by overcoming Marta Talavan and Lorena Rufo Ortiz in two sets, 6-2 / 6-3.
