WPT CDMX Open - Ruiz and Stupa drop the numbers 1!

Franco Stupaczuk and Alex Ruiz have created a new little surprise in Mexico by eliminating number 1 Ale Galan and Juan Lebron in the quarterfinals.

It was the seventh meeting of the season for these two pairs, and he has kept his promises. The spectators present in large numbers in Mexico City were able to enjoy a fast-paced and thrilling encounter.

For the third time in 2021, Alejandro Ruiz and Franco Stupaczuk have taken down the numbers 1. The Spaniard and the Argentinian were able to adapt perfectly to the particular conditions of the track to get rid of their opponents in straight sets.

After winning the first set 6/4, they showed great mentality to save 4 set points at 4/5 in the second set, before breaking their opponents on a new “punto de oro”. A shutout on their service came to seal this meeting won by a master hand by the number 5 pair of the WPT! With three wins out of seven confrontations, Carlos Pozzoni's players are definitely causing problems for Lebron and Galan.

Tomorrow, they will face Miguel Lamperti and Miguel Yanguas with the possibility of offering themselves a fourth final this season. But be careful because these are a Lamperti and a Yanguas on a mission who will appear in front of them! Another big match in perspective!

Lebron and Galan meanwhile will not be allowed to make mistakes in the Final Master under penalty of seeing Paquito Navarro and Martin Di Nenno rob them of their first place!
