This is how we could summarize the 2021 Challenger calendar of the World Padel Tour : a stronger circuit but less international!

More tournaments, more level

The schedule for the 2021 Challenger circuit World Padel Tour just got out and the first good news is thatthere will be 6 tournaments, compared to 4 in 2019 (there were none in 2020 due to the pandemic). In addition to  partner with UPC  for the organization of the competition, the WPT also offers more tournaments, which is very good news for players and spectators!

The other good news is that from now on, with the gentlemen only the top 11 players in the WPT will not be eligible to participate (previously the top 15 in the leaderboards were without Challengers), which means we might see pairs like Diaz / Silingo or Ruiz / Botello in these tournaments! More level therefore, and more fun for the spectators!

Only one country visited: Spain!

This is a little less good news, the fact that the Challenger 2021 circuit is limited to Spain. We imagine that the WPT, which has already proven its desire to internationalize, has this choice by default, because of the uncertainty related to the pandemic… E

We can hardly fault the World Padel TourWho managed to organize 11 tournaments in 2020, all in Spain, in an unprecedented crisis. Spain being the country where the padel is the most developed, it is certainly much easier for the WPT to find sponsors for the tournaments, especially at this time. A way of “playing it safe” in a certain way, besides the players living and training mostly in Spain, it is up to them. less complicated to travel to the country in which they reside.

Nevertheless, we should see some very good games, which should be broadcast on YouTube, and we are expecting some very good pictures, with up to 96 pairs for men, and 56 for the ladies. One thing is for sure: we can't wait for it to start!
