The competition has never been so close on the World Padel Tour, with the presence of four winning pairs in the last four tournaments.

7 different pairs in the semi-finals

Of the four tournaments played in 2020, 7 different teams reached the semi-finals : Salazar / Sanchez (3 times), Marrero / Josemaria (3 times), Gonzalez / Ortega (3 times), Triay / Sainz (3 times), Llaguno / Amatriain (2 times), Alayeto / Alayeto (1 time), and Araujo / Riera (1 time).

Even more surprising, 6 different pairs have reached this stage of the competition : Salazar / Sanchez (2 times), Gonzalez / Ortega (2 times), Marrero / Josemaria (1 time), Triay / Sainz (1 time), Llaguno / Amatriain (1 time), Alayeto / Alayeto (1 time).

A very tight race

In addition, we have not attended the same final twice. Finals that were won by four different pairs, and three of which were disputed in three sets, again proof that the competition is very tight.

 

We realize that the competition continues to intensify, with pairs that have all their strengths. Paula Josemaria and Marta Marrero, at the top of the Race classification, notably thanks to their victory in the Marbella Master, are only 795 points ahead of Mapi and Majo Alayeto, 9th. At the top of the table, all the pairs are held in a pocket handkerchief, and Llaguno / Amatriain, 11th, is not far either, just 220 points from the binoculars.

A race for the undecided Master Final

This promises us great games all season long, with a clear group of 6 teams struggling to decide for the moment.

La race for the Master Final may be fierce with in addition to these six pairs, Araujo / Riera, who achieved two quarter-finals in 4 tournaments in 2020, only one less than for the whole of 2019, but also Brea / Nogueira, Reiter / Navarro, or even Osoro / Navarro.

Anyway, there is still a risk of having a great time in the next tournaments: with yet another new winning pair? Beginning of response within three weeks, in Valence.
