If there is a pair that, for us, can be considered the revelation of this start of the season on the World Padel Tour, this is it.

For those who do not know them, it is about Miguel Semmler (72st) and Francisco Javier Leal (82nd).

Although these two young Spaniards are still confined to the previas, they manage to increase their level of play as they compete and make a name for themselves in the circuit.

Classified ninth pair to Race 2021 just behind Juan Martin Diaz et Jorge nieto, this duo continues to grow.

Warm-up in Madrid before exploding in Alicante

After an elimination in the last round of the WPT Madrid preprevias, they manage to impress in Alicante thanks to their consistency throughout the qualifying stages.

They won their three games without any problem to slip into the previas, notably with a 6/0 6/1 victory over Fernando Poggi et Jaime Menendez !

During the previas, the magic continues for the two young players who confirm by eliminating 6-3 / 6-3 Aday Santana (66st) and Cristian Gutierrez (46th), two regulars at the top of the table with a much higher level of play.

In the same day after having dominated Jorge Ruiz (49st) and Diego Ramos (65th), they won their ticket to enter their first 1/16 final.

Unfortunately for them, the adventure in Alicante ended in a defeat against Javier Ruiz et Uri Botello who returned to competition after not participating in WPT Madrid.

Although they did not manage to pass the course, the young pair managed to take a set at the number 8 seed. They will have strung six consecutive victories in the space of a few days, and this after having achieved a semi-final just before at the FIP Star in La Nucia!

Vigo for history

We take the same ones and start again in Galician land.

After their good results in Alicante, the two Spaniards come back fully boosted, more confident than ever and that will play out throughout the competition.

Miguel et Javi manage to pass the preprevias without too much difficulty.

During this World Padel Tour they still display the same rage to win and the same consistency as in the last tournament.

Despite exhausting matches ending in 3 sets for the most part, they continue to count the victories until the qualification for the final table.

The 1/16 final promises to be tempting because they pit these two young phenomena against two veterans of the circuit that are Matias Diaz et Augustin Sillingo. Although the latter are more experienced, they are eliminated in 3 sets during an intense match.
Final score: 6-1 / 4-6 / 6-4

Exceptional! Javi and Miguel win a ticket for their first 1/8 final and are already doing better than in the previous tournament.

Their path will cross this time the Martin Piñeiro route et Javier Barahona, regulars of the “Cuadros”.

Once again, semmler et Loyal will be talked about by defeating their rivals in a totally crazy match. They ultimately win 2- 6 / 6-2 / 7-5.

Unfortunately for them their adventure will end in the quarterfinals against a pair that ended up in Galicia: Paquito Navarro / Martin Di Nenno. For their 9th game in six days, Leal and Semmler fell in love with a more experienced pair.

The question we ask ourselves at Padel Magazine it is: how far will these two cracks go?

The more tournaments pass, the more they impress.

We can not wait to see what they will offer us during the next WPT taking place this time in Santander. Thanks to their good progress, they will begin this time in previas, where they will obviously be expected!
