The first tournament of the season, the World Padel Tour Marbella Master was won by the Marrero / Josemaria pair after a big match in three sets.

As with the men, it took three sets to separate the seeds 1 and 2 in the final of the Marbella Master of the World Padel Tour. We were treated to a very high level from all four players, but in the end, Marrero's experience associated with the young “dynamite” Josemaria won out. As in men, the match ball, and even the whole match, will be played at “Punto de oro”.

In the first set, the proteges of Juan Alday break and confirm to lead 5/3. But the Salazar / Sanchez pair did not give up and won two games in a row at the “punto de oro”, to pick up and force a tie-break. However badly embarked, Paula and Marta don't give up and end up win the deciding game 7 points to 5.

The second set starts much better for the players trained by Manu Martin, they break then confirm and race in the lead all along to win the round on their serve, 6/4. Continuing their momentum, they break entry into the third.

But their opponents are not let down and on a raging smash of Paula Josemaria, the seeded number 2 immediately breaks. At 2/2 in the third, we say that we are likely to witness a very tight end to the set. But Josemaria / Marrero didn't see it that way.

The solidity of Marrero, and the enthusiasm of his partner, who strings together the winning smashes, allows the pair to win the last two games of the match at “punto de oro”, not without a touch of success. Very hard for Sanchez / Salazar who could have ended up at 4/4, but who lost the set 6/2. In the end a victory 7/6 4/6 6/2, which punctuates a tournament with an impressive level of play. We say that the world number one, Marta Marrero, most certainly succeeded in deciding to play with Paula Josemaria.
