The first two world pairs in the final of the WPT Master Final, we could hardly have dreamed of a better poster! But how hard it was for Ariana Sanchez and Alejandra Salazar!

The semi-finals follow each other, and are not alike… After the demonstration by Marta Marrero and Marta Ortega this morning against Carolina Navarro and Cecilia Reiter (6/3 6/1), it was the turn of numbers two to hit the track this afternoon.

Opposed to surprising Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez, Ale and Ari were very hot! Totally dominated in the first set (3/6), the players coached by Manu Martín were able to lift their heads in the second to put the two teams tied (6/3). The third set was beautiful, with suspense, enough to delight the Palau Sant Jordi. In one breathtaking final, Ariana Sanchez and Alejandra Salazar shared their experience to win 8-6 in the tie-break!

An extended match finally won 3/6 6/3 7/6 (6) which could leave traces before tomorrow's final. Hopefully the two players will have recovered well to offer us a gala match. The meeting will be followed after the men's final (which starts at 10 a.m.). A big sunday of padel in perspective !
