No first semi-final on a WPT Open for Alix Collombon and Jessica Castello who lost to Las Heras / Virseda in Reus.

Asked yesterday by Padel Magazine, Alix Collombon did not want to talk about a dream opportunity to play a semi-final. Indeed, in front of her and her partner were Barbara Las Heras and Veronica Virseda, two players who had beaten them in their two previous clashes.

Today again, it's a very big match that these two duos will have delivered but it is once again the pair Las Heras / Virseda who came out triumphant.

Alix and Jessica had started well in winning the first round, but as usual Barbara and Veronica hung on and were able to pick up a set everywhere. The last act will have offered a lot of suspense, with hanging games, breaks, un-breaks, and it is finally at the "punto de oro", on their first match point, that Las Heras and Virseda sealed the fate of the encounter.

Final victory 3/6 6/3 6/4 for these two players who will play their very first semi-final on a WPT Open. Tomorrow they will face Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar, who still needed three sets to dominate Amatriain/Navarro: 6/2 4/6 6/0.

We obviously imagine that Alix Collombon and Jessica Castello will be very disappointed to stop so close to the goal but given the level of play demonstrated, we say to ourselves that they will soon have a new opportunity to climb into the last four. Indeed, the Franco-Spanish pair made an excellent start to the season with two consecutive quarter-finals. We look forward to seeing them in Vigo, in less than two weeks!
