WPT Vigo Open 2021: very tempting tables!

Tables from World Padel Tour Vigo Open 2021 are out and once again there will be some really big games from the round of XNUMX of the main draw!

As always during the WPT Open, we will have to wait until Thursday to see the 4 first seeds in action. For the ladies, all eyes will be on the Martas, who for once will not have Victoria Iglesias and Aranzazu Osoro in their part of the painting. Without their black animal on the horizon, will they be able to climb to the semi-finals? They could meet the pair in form Salazar / Triay for a place in the final. Ale and Gemma were not particularly spoiled with a potential shock against the Alayeto twins, who made their comeback from the quarter-finals!

For men, we could also have dream posters in the quarterfinals. We obviously think of the revenge of the semi-final in Madrid: Lima / Tapia vs Stupaczuk / Ruiz, but also of a clash between Argentines: Chingotto / Tello vs Belasteguin / Gutierrez!

We are obviously not there yet. Indeed, we could still witness many surprises from the round of 12 which begins on Wednesday XNUMXth.

In the men

We start with a very big entrance shock, the one opposing one of the strongest pairs at the start of the season: Arturo Coello and Miguel Lamperti to a duo which has proven its solidity in recent years: Uri Botello and Javi Ruiz!

Another very interesting confrontation is that between Fernandez Cano / Diestro and Belluati / Garrido. Jaén FIP finalists, Antonio Fernandez Cano and José Antonio Diestro arrive in Vigo full of confidence. Not a gift for Juan Cruz Belluati and Javi Garrido who are still making their mark together…

For their entry into the running, Juan Martin Diaz and Coki Nieto inherited one of the worst possible pairs in the round of XNUMX: Federico Chingotto and Juan Tello. A very complicated match is ahead for the semi-finalists of FIP Jaén…

Maxi Sanchez and Lucho Capra, who are looking for a first victory together, will face another pair plagued by doubt: Momo Gonzalez and Javi Rico, who were prematurely eliminated in Jaén.

The winners of the first FIP Gold in history, Lucas Campagnolo and Lucas Bergamini, will start favorites against Ernesto Moreno and Denis Perino. In case of victory they would face off against Bela and Sanyo. A Brazil / Argentina face-to-face meeting which should be very interesting!

Finally, still in the sixteenth, we expect a big fight between the promising Miguel Yanguas / Ivan Ramirez and the still solid Diego Fuster / Gonzalo Rubio.

In the ladies

Among the girls, several very interesting matches as well. We are of course thinking of the French Alix Collombon and her partner Jessica Castello, who will clearly have a card to play against a pair that does not succeed at the start of the season: the number 8 seed Cette Reiter and Carolina Navarro!

The other meeting that catches our attention is that between Carla Mesa / Barbara Las Heras and Patty Llaguno / Virginia Riera. Fallers of Eli Amatriain and Sofia Araujo in Alicante, Jorge de Benito's players will have the opportunity to add Eli and Sofia's former partners to their hunting roster!

Finally, a very good match in perspective also between Teresa Navarro / Ana Catarina Nogueira and Veronica Virseda / Lucia Martinez!

Among the girls, Léa Godallier and Ari Cañellas will try to get a new place in a WPT main draw this season. For this they will first have to dominate a qualified pair, which should be Xenia Clasca and Nuria Vivancos, two players who beat them in a preparation tournament last March. The opportunity to take their revenge!

Other interesting matches, like a possible clash with Italian flavors between Bellver / Jensen and Pappacena / Sussarello!

Among the men, several pairs will be to watch, including Edu Alonso and Jesus Moya, who could face the seed number 1, Gadea / Remedios in the second round of the previas!

Preprevias

In preprevias we find as always several pairs with French including the 100% French team: Bastien Blanqué / Thomas Leygue, we will come back to it! In addition, we will always have Tison / Zapata and Bergeron / Vasquez!

For girls, Mélissa Martin will represent the French colors in these preprevias. Her tournament begins Monday at 15:00 p.m., alongside a new partner: Rebeca Lopez.
