The French men's and women's teams won for their first match at the 12th European Championship padel.

The men in the decisive match

Opposed to Denmark, the French men's team was logically favorite.

After a first express victory for Benjamin Tison and Bastien Blanqué (6/0 6/1 against Elholm / Jorgensen), we thought that the Blues would take place but it was without counting on the catchy Danes!

Indeed, in a very tense match, Thomas Leygue and Jérémy Scatena lost to Hess-Olesen / Skajaa (7/6 7/6).

With the pressure of the decisive match, Johan Bergeron and Jean-Thomas Peyrou got the job done by dominating Domela / Moller 7/5 6/3. A result which allows France to pocket its first victory.

The other meeting of group B gave rise to a easy victory for Spain against San Marino (3 / 0).

Next match tomorrow at 16:15 p.m. for the French, against the Spanish armada.

Tomorrow morning is of course the start of the Open for our French pairs.

The girls avoid the decisive match!

After an express victory of Alix Collombon and Léa Godallier (6/0 6/0) against Laukkoski / Rauta, Mai Vo and Amélie Detriviere played to scare each other against a much stronger Finnish pair.

After losing the first set in the tie-break against Leivo / Saarteinen, the French resumed drastically, inflicting 6/1 on their opponents. But the Finns had not said their last word and they continued their excellent work, leading the race in the third set, until they got a match point at 5/4. But Mai and Amélie continued to believe in it and ended up winning the set 7/6 (7/4).

Like the men, the girls won their first victory, even before the third match between Soubrié and Vandaele against Lizana / Torkki.

Tomorrow afternoon, they will rest, awaiting their last match against Sweden on Wednesday.

Tomorrow morning, the Open also begins for the girls, in the 32nd round.
