Padel Magazine : First of all, how did you discover this sport?

Zinedine Zidane : " It was in Spain, in Madrid 6-7 years ago, with friends and family. In Spain it's a very well-known sport, and then it's a way to have fun when you get older! “

Padel Magazine : “We could see for example that Sergio Ramos was a fan of padel, have you had the opportunity to cross swords with him on a padel ? "

Zinedine Zidane : ”Not with Sergio! I never had the opportunity to play with (or against him) at padel ! It is true that there are many many former and current football players who play football. padel ! It really is a super enjoyable sport ”

Padel Magazine : Marseille is a club that is dear to your heart. And precisely it is Rudi Garcia, who coached OM in 2018, who during a pre-season internship, organized matches on the pitches of padel. Did that give you any ideas, in terms of working on team cohesion? 

Zinedine Zidane :  " Absolutely ! Even if on group cohesion, sincerely we have a lot of tools! It's not necessarily the padel which is going to be the most effective, but to do something fun and have fun the padel is very complementary with football. “

Padel Magazine : You work with All for Padel, Adidas Padel, and it also happens that there is Padel Zenter with Ibrahimovic who got into this sport. Can we expect to see a Zlatan x Zizou pair on a field of padel ?

Zinedine Zidane : " It wouldn't be bad, it would be a very good pareja as we say in Spanish. Zlatan, we can certainly do it when our paths cross, I sign! We can even do Zlatan and Zizou against Ale Galan and Alex Ruiz”

Padel Magazine : At padel are you a defender, or rather an offensive?

Zinedine Zidane : ”I attack, I am quite a forehand and I have a preference for the right side! “

Padel Magazine : What is the program for Z5?

Zinedine Zidane : ”The program today is the inauguration of the Z5 Padel Aix. We are delighted to open these 4 tracks of padel, it's a good compromise with 5-a-side football that we've had for about ten years now. There was a small place to put our 4 pitches, it was really great to be able to be here today and perhaps also have a new audience in this center. In the near future, we plan to open a Z5 football center in Istres, and we will try to put 6 football pitches padel (with maybe indoor). 

Internationally, we have a Z5 Turin and the idea is to be able to insert padel too. It's not yet done but that's what we would like to do. ”

Padel Magazine : Last question a little people. We see David Beckham, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga..many sports personalities embark on the padel, when is a tournament padel celebrities ?

Zinedine Zidane : I think it can be done easily. And why not here at the Z5? I challenge all the personalities who would like to make this tournament here!
