Alix Collombon: "Very complicated to say 'no' to Victoria Iglesias!"

As we told you earlier, Alix Collombon is registered at World Padel Tour Marbella Master with Victoria Iglesias, 12th player in the ranking. And as she announced on his Instagram account, the Lyonnaise will start a new adventure with the Sevillan.

The French Champion first looks back on this unusual start to the season for her:

“It's a special year. For me, who always stayed with my partners and who could train with them every day since they were like me in Barcelona, it's a little different this year, since Victoria will be my third partner of the season.

Now, she is looking forward to the future alongside one of the best players in the world in recent years:

“With Alejandra (Alonso), it was a medium-term project, which I believed in, with a young player who has a lot of future. But last Thursday, when Victoria called me, it was very difficult to say no. We're talking about a player who made a lot of quarter-finals… It's a great opportunity for me, I'm very happy that she called me. I'm going to work a lot, we're going to try to get the best possible results. I am very happy with this new association!”

From now on, we say to ourselves that the initial objective of Alix, namely to finish the season in the eight best pairs, seems to come back to life. It will still be necessary to whip for the Lyonnaise and the Andalusian, who are just over 1200 points behind the Alayeto twins.

The new Franco-Spanish pair will play their first official match in a week in Marbella against young Marta Caparros and Carmen Goenaga.

  • Hello
Qualification for the Final Masters has always been based on the individual ranking, therefore the 16 best players and not the 8 best pairs, which each year has given rise to new associations (chingotto/di nenno pe).
Would the rules have changed? It seems difficult to implement.
