Benjamin Tison: “I had nearly 50.000 euros in expenses last year”

The French number one in the discipline Benjamin Tison was a guest on the Viva podcast Padel on RMC. During this interview, the 63rd player in the world detailed the financial aspect of his professional project by explaining what the evolution of the padel implies for him, in particular by revealing the costs incurred each season.

“It is getting more and more expensive. When I left, it was around 30.000 euros. And now, as the circuit is no longer based only in Spain, last year it cost me almost 50.000 euros.

“I'm going to be transparent: the first two seasons I left, I was lucky not to lose money thanks to tournaments but especially thanks to sponsors. I haven't won any either.”

“Since last year when I had a big season, whether thanks to the increase in sponsors, Canal+, RMC, everything that revolves around the padel, this year I made money.”

“It's starting to be a 'real sport'. I see it even with the Spaniards: before between the 30e and 80e instead you were forced to work on the side. Today, everyone is professional. This is largely due to the fact that the padel is exploding.”
