We looked at the gains won by players from padel on the professional tournaments of World Padel Tour (WPT). We only investigated the men since the women have a professional circuit unfortunately less active than that of the men with notably fewer stages, which is also the subject of tensions between the professional players and the World Padel Tour.
But let's refocus on the original topic: Can we get rich at padel ? NO, especially when we compare the huge difference in prize money between tennis and padel.
The world number one wins in 1 year what a top 120/130 tennis player earns. To give another idea of the difference in prize money between tennis and padel, a world top 100 in tennis earns on average a little less than € 200.000 gross / year, a top 150 around € 75.000 / year and a top 200, around € 20.000 / year.
This means that a world top 150 in tennis equals a gain to a top 5/4 in the padel .
In passing, remember that we must deduct prize money, taxes, transport, hotels, coach, physio ...

Well, by sympathy, we will give you another figure: 9 10 million euros of prize money for the 1 world number as in 2012 for the Djoker (9.7 precisely). But it is quite variable in the top 3 to a few million.
Increased income compared to the time of Padel Per tour
Le Padel Pro Tour is the former professional circuit of padel which has been supplanted for another professional circuit for 3/4 years, the World Padel Tour.
In 2010, the best players in the world had therefore won on the Padel Pro Tour:
It will be noted that the revenues of the world top 10 between 2010 and 2015/2016 have almost doubled. Obviously, this is rather a good thing, but when you go down a little in the hierarchy of padel worldwide, we observe that the increase in prize money is far from having followed.

A top 100 world must earn significantly more than 200.000 € because it accesses the tables of 4 major tournaments.
In Australia a defeat in the first round is 50.000 $!
Gains to Padel remain weak for the top-level but that can evolve because - unlike squash - it is a spectacular sport very televisual.
Super initiative but it's still a shame to write an article on this very interesting topic and not to mention the contribution of sponsors who represent the bulk of the income of the world top!
Agree with Ritzou. Very interesting article, but it's true that I imagine that brands put their hands in their pockets. If we could have a dedicated article instead of brands with players it would be interesting too.
Indeed the article only concerns prize money or endowments for tournaments padel of the WPT. The objective of this article being just to compare the gross wages between tennis and padel. We will see if we can offer you an article on the gains obtained through sponsorship, but not easy to have the answers ... Case to be continued.

why on the site of the WPT are nowhere indicated the prize money of each stage and the prizes awarded to the winning pair, finalist, ... etc ...
