Closure of a mastodon of padel

This is very sad news: the closure of one of the biggest clubs in padel of the world, the Sanset Padel Indoor, located in Madrid, which did not withstand the coronavirus crisis.

Jorge de Benito told us in his interview : the padel Spanish is currently going through a serious economic crisis. The Sanset Padel Indoor, created in 2013, and one of the biggest clubs in padel of the world, with more than 30 tracks, a restaurant and a gym, must pay the price.

The seat of Babolat Padel was also at Sanset Padel Indoor. The French firm will therefore also have to find another site.

With a rent of almost 40 € per month, the Sanset does not have the cash to continue. The Covid-19 crisis will have been too heavy for this juggernaut of padel. It must be said that the padel has resumed in Spain, but unlike France, clubs cannot open only 30% of their capacity.

After more than two months of inactivity, these conditions have ended the Sanset. The club where the French Champion Bastien Blanqué trained in particular has announced its permanent closure on Instagram, thanking all its employees and regulars. Sad news, and we hope that other clubs will not suffer the same fate…
