Is coaching authorized in France?

The French Tennis Federation has integrated coaching into the 2022 competition guide. A development that allows to remove a blur when players are present with a coach.

Coaching is authorized during the following competitions:

- Senior category tournaments: P 500, P 1000 or P 2000

- Youth tournaments

- Team championships, whatever the age category and whatever the competition (interclub, interleague, departmental etc.)

- Departmental & regional Youth, Seniors and Seniors Plus championships in pairs

- French Senior Championships in pairs

General rules, common to all the tests:

- The coach must imperatively be licensed FFT (year of approval)

- A coach can advise several pairs participating in the tournament or championship

- Coach advice can only be given during rest periods, and only during rest periods.

- The coach must in no case intervene during discussions between players, or during a dispute with or without a referee.

- In the event of reprehensible behavior on the part of the coach, the code of conduct applies, in fact, to the pair he advises.
