You are a good tennis volleyball player. So you think that's enough for the padel... Well no, the key is placement and even more on the fly at padel. Because there are two of you, so the right placement will help the team to be more efficient.

The situation

Sometimes, by being on the fly, we find ourselves in a difficult situation. For example, if your partner strikes a smatch towards the bottom wall of the court but the speed of the ball is not enough to defeat the opponents. This case makes us go from an attack position to an uncomfortable situation in which the two opponents advance towards the net with the firm intention of finishing the point.

What to do ?

Let's not hide the fact that the situation is almost lost but we must try to play with statistics. The attacking player who is facing the ball that belongs to him must imperatively protect the area that separates him from his wall. The ball should not go through it otherwise his partner will have no chance to catch the shot, too eccentric.

However, there is still a chance (low but not zero) if the opponents play in the middle.

The partner can, for example, attempt a “contrapared” in lob or even use the back wall to defend.

Let's see this in image.

See you soon ……

  • Hello,

Thank you for this program and congratulations for its achievement which is particularly successful. Here are some remarks and questions of beginner:
    1) On the whole chain, we see the technical gesture, but not too much where the ball goes. In ball sports, I like being shown where the ball is going, it helps me to visualize what to do.
    2) What are the main tactics and objectives of the game?
    3) When coming from tennis, what should we do to progress, what can we rely on and what should we forget?
    4) Can you offer ranges to 4, 3, 2 and why not alone?
    5) It would be nice to have a sevice course
    6) It seems that the position on the right or left is very important and that a player can play only right or left? Why? and how does one determine one's side. I do not have the impression that there are as in tennis combinations where the partner of the waiter or volleyball player leaves on one side or the other.
    7) I have read that the control rackets have a hard foam. I took a racket like this (bullpadel k4). However, I find that the ball does not stay long enough in the racket. Are there soft and controlled foams to have a similar feel to my tennis set-up (colpoly stretched around 17 which allows the ball to be kept in the string for a long time with a lot of spin and very little power)

Thank you again for this French resource particularly well done and sorry for all these questions.

    Xavier
