For novices: a field of padel does 20 meters long by 10 meters wide, the famous “veinte por diez”, dear to our Spanish-speaking friends. In total, this gives us a 200m² area… just that !
In comparison, the tennis court is a rectangular field (like the padel) of 23,77 m long and 10,97 m wide (corridors included). Its surface area is approximately equivalent to 260m².
The side walls therefore measure 20 meters in length and 3 to 4 meters in height depending on its position. They are necessarily made up of mesh panels and transparent walls.
Concerning the service line, it is located at 6,95 meters from the net and it exceeds the intersection with the central line by 20 centimeters. For the thickness of the lines, we are at 5 centimeters.
The dimensions of the openings (doors) must be as follows:
Another important point: clearance around the field to allow exits. A space free of any obstacle must exist with a minimum width of 1,4 meters by 8 meters long (i.e. 4 meters on each side of the net) and a height of 2 meters to 2,2 meters.
Concerning roof of padels indoor, for the FIP the minimum height must be 6 meters over the entire surface. Without anything (i.e. spotlights) obstructing this area.
For new installations, it is recommended that the minimum clearance height be 8 meters over the entire surface of the land, without any obstructing element in this area. The FFT demands a height of 7 meters, with the frames of the lighting system.
