The locals won the FIP Rise in Utrecht despite a very good resistance from the Franco-Spanish pair Inzerillo/Ruiz.
In a fiery atmosphere, with spectators completely committed to the cause of Meijer and Richters, Inzerillo and Ruiz were not impressed. The Frenchman and his partner even won the first round in the tie-break, calming the public's enthusiasm a little.
But the Dutch started the second round with a bang. Solid, they took the second set 6/3 and offered themselves a super tie-break of the most undecided (due to late hour, the organizers did not have the possibility of playing a third set).
And in this ten-point decisive game, it was the locals who were the sharpest and they won the title at home. Final score: 6/7 6/3 10-8.
