Jérémy Ritz is one of the best French players. He was playing this weekend with Maxime Moreau, player of the World Padel Tour, to reach the semi-finals of the FFT Padel Tour Valenciennes. He looks back on his start to the season, his program and his feelings before attacking a very intense second half with the French Championships in padel 2019.
With Max, we have already played together several times. He is obviously a very good player who trains in Spain and plays on the professional circuit of padel. So obviously, I'm delighted to be able to play with him this year. Even if I am less involved than him and other players in the French top 10/20, I remain passionate and attentive to developments in the padel.
For these French championships of Padel 2019, so I will play with Max. We have the ambition to get the podium and why not more ...
My feeling is that I am not very far but not really close. I admire Johan bergeron who plays a padel super fair and very well organized. It is very difficult to move.
When I'm in front, that is to say in his diagonal, I lack of weapons to earn points. It is better and faster than me so it's not easy to compete but I will try to find some keys to do better in the next meetings!
For my part, I am working physically to get back to a better level - I think it is already the first easily improved point.
I love to play left to have fun but I remain convinced that I am less efficient than right so a change is not at all on the program. One of my strengths is the regularity and sometimes the ability to support a point. For a right-wing player, it's always a plus. it allows your partner left to avoid the obligation to complete all points ...
It is true that we did a real feat with my friend Raphael Jannel last year but it was much more thanks to him than thanks to me because he had played 80% of balls that day (laugh).
I definitely went to StarVie. It was not easy at first but I now go directly with Spain and it's going really well. I take this opportunity to express thanks to Jean Luc and all his team who take care of me perfectly from Madrid. No particular news except that I will be in Spain next week to train a few days. I will then play all P2000 and a few P1000 south quarter is hoping to make a great season and especially continue to explode on the field.
