Le P1500 of 4PADEL Bordeaux offered many surprises. And seeded players exited the tournament prematurely.
At the top of the table, the 5th seed, Matthieu Armagnac / Morgan Mannarino comes out in the first round with a dry score 6/2 6/1 against Thibaut Pech / Benoît Theard. A half-surprise, since in reality, the people of Toulouse have a ranking which does not correspond to their general level. The 2 seed, Rouanet / Sanchez, knows this only too well and therefore did not have an easy match in this quarter. However, it is a relatively quiet victory in 2 sets 6/1 6/4 which contrasts with this super tie-break match in the eighth won against Lozano / Perez Le Tiec.
The 4th seed, Ludovic Cancel / Arthur Hugounenq, was also surprised in his first round against Simon Wagner / Alexis Coulombeau in 3 sets: 4/6 6/1 6/4. In the quarter-final, Wagner / Coulombeau played against the 7 seed of the tournament Timéo Fonteny / Quentin Ayuso. It was announced: the match was going to be very balanced, but it turned in favor of Ayuso / Fonteny with a victory in 3 sets: 3/6 7/6 6/4. At the top of the table, we will therefore have the 1st seed facing the 7th seed.
At the bottom of the table, Thomas Vanbauce and Dorian de Meyer had a complicated first match won in 3 sets (6/4 5/7 7/5) against Yanis Muesser and Yann Araudou. The step was a little too high for the locals against the 3rd seed Max Forcin and Manu Vives. In the previous round, however, it took 3 sets for the 3rd seed to overcome Julien Seurin and Adrien Dandois.
In the semi-final, we will be entitled to a big confrontation: Vives / Forcin against Garcia / Grué. Benjamin Grué and Aitor Garcia have so far not lost a single set in the tournament.
Among the ladies, the little surprise comes from the 6th seed Cassandra Senjean / Laura Buteau who manages to beat the 4th seed, Marie Lefevre / Jennifer Denecheau in 3 sets 6/2 3/6 6/3. Buteau / Senjean will play their semi-final against the head of seed 1 Mélanie Ros / Marie Maligo who almost got surprised in the round of 8 by the surprising Marie Rondot and Steffi Merah. Ros / Maligo, however, only lost 2 games in their quarter-final against Nada Majdoubi / Laurine Bergaud (6/2 6/0).
The 3rd seed, Alexise Duchêne / Charlyne Tonda also passed the Mélissa Martin / Amélie Detrivière obstacle in 3 sets: 4/6 6/3 6/2. A victory for Duchêne / Tonda which is very expensive in view of their international claims. And the Parisian, Alexise Duchêne does not hide it: “the idea of joining the French team is starting to germinate”. Next round against another big piece, the 2nd seed, Bahurel / Sireix, who has been rather spared until then by the table.
