Qatar 2020: the French teams do the work

The French women's and men's teams did the job in the group stage of the World Championship of Padel which takes place in Doha, Qatar.

The girls fly over their group

Coach Robin Haziza had said it on the night of the draw : the draw was favorable for his team, and it was necessary to put all the ingredients to make it easy.

And the least we can say is that the French were very serious in the approach of the three meetings.

For their debut against the USA, they only left two games on the way. The Chileans will have taken one more from them, while the Germans will have had to wait for the last set of the last match to score their first game against the Blue ...

9 games won for a total of 6 games lost, enough to fill up with confidence for Robin Haziza's group. By winning their group, the French avoid the three other top names in the quarterfinals: Spain, Argentina and Italy. A very good thing!

A loss in 9 games for the boys

Among the men, the pool was a little more difficult, with the presence of Paraguay in particular, but the French finally did what was necessary to finish in first position.

Like the girls, they avoid the three strongest nations in the quarterfinals: Argentina, Spain and Brazil.

Against Germany, the Blues had made a good entry into contention, not losing a single set. The next day, they fought a big fight against Paraguay, finally won at the decisive point by Bastien Blanqué and Thomas Leygue.

Today, the coach was able to turn, and the team again performed very well with a victory without losing a set against Poland.

We can therefore say that the job has been done, with only three sets lost in 9 games for the band of Alexis Salles!

From now on, we will wait for the draws for the quarter-finals in order to see who our French men and women will fall against!
