I am the number one French. And I wanted to know the taste of the professional circuit. And for that, no choice, you have to go and try your luck in Spain, the Mecca of padel .
Le World Padel Tour is the professional circuit of padel reference. And if I want to see what I can do there, I have to come there.
Now, we'll have to work and prove ... and who knows?
I am the first French to go to Barcelona to try an adventure on the professional circuit of padel. Obviously, it will not be obvious at the start. It is a sacrifice. But passion motivates you. The objective is to try to find a place in this very Spanish-speaking environment. And it's not going to be obvious. There are very few foreigners yet on the World Padel Tour.
And I think that we do not necessarily realize in France the enormous level that there is in Spain. In boys, the road will be long.
I am lucky to be well surrounded. With me, one of the best coaches in the world, Juan Alday. I put all the chances on my side so that it happens the best possible.
Of course, with girls, it's also complicated. But there are still far fewer players on the pro circuit. The competition is less fierce. Perhaps there is indeed something to be done. We see some players with little padel behind them perform quickly at the WPT. For men, before entering the main draw, it takes time.
I think some will see how it goes in Spain first. In Barcelona, there is nothing to complain about. And then it's to play padel. So I think it will be a great experience.
But indeed, the padel is in full development in France. We feel it enormously, there is no reason that I am the only French for very long.
Moreover, as you write it so well, the padel is not developing only in France and that may be the good news, especially for the professional circuit. There may well be other foreigners on the professional circuit in the next few years.
