The news comes to us of our colleagues from Marca : the World Padel Tour et Premier Padel would be in discussions to try to resolve the current situation.
As we have already mentioned, since the birth of Premier Padel almost a year ago, the situation between the players, the World Padel Tour and therefore the new official circuit of the FIP is more than explosive.
But according to Marca, the WPT and the circuit financed by Qatar Sports Investments would have met before the final of the Master Final of the World Padel Tour with the idea of harmonizing the 2023 season. There could even be a meeting to which the PPA and the International Federation of padel, in order to put everyone in agreement.
In this context where athletes, tired of having to compete in so many tournaments, are demanding a single circuit, this would obviously be good news.
But in view of the latest letter from the PPA and the threatens players to boycott the WPT Open 1000, we say to ourselves that there is still work to be done to be able to reach a consensus… We will see what the next few weeks have in store for us, but it promises to be eventful!
