Why spike at padel can be (very) dangerous?

Padel Magazine wished there too, to answer the questions of certain Internet users who wish to understand why it would be necessary at times to slow down the game and to avoid smasher.

At the time of the smash, one of the opposing players can anticipate it, leave the field and win the point. How?

  • Thanks for your feedback.
In your subject you explain video in support that by doing one by 3, one could be countered by an opponent who left the cage for a definitive blow.
I said that from what I had seen (and probably at low level), the 3 were always winners. My question was to know from what level they were no longer.

And yes I agree, do not smash it wrong and through because we can be countered. But as soon as you can get the ball (by 3 or 4), what I saw and played, you have to do it because the point is won.

I was speaking in my comment of a smash straight that is done up the grid is easy to do and hard to play because you should not touch the grid and there is little room between the ball and grid

    • From the top 30 / 40 french. After that depends on the types of game and the field too. But in the top 100, all "attacking" players are able to get her out.
Bastien Blanqué for example is a very annoying player for attackers because he is able to anticipate and counter smasher by 3.

  • From what level are we able to anticipate to get the smashes out and finish the point?

Apart from the internet, I have never seen this done even with "good" players who came to demo the club.

A badly typed smash that is neither very high nor very fast when he passes the net is often punished. But when you take out the ball, I still feel that you always win the point to a level reached by almost no one.

A tactical question about the smash: I noticed that when I smashed along the wall to go to the net, it was a winner every time. Is it something that works for a long time? I have the impression that nobody on the internet does this

    • Hello, from a certain level, we manage to get the ball out. Obviously, this article is perhaps aimed at players rather confirmed.
The problem is that the more the level increases, more in general one is good defender. So the attacker will think twice if he really wants to attack.
I think you're talking to us in your straight smash comment (or parallel smash). it can be very effective. Moreover, many players use this smash by tapping hard in front and bouncing very high ball to prevent a player to take the ball near the net.
