World Seniors Plus 2024: the French in the semi-final!

The French imitated the French yesterday at La Nucia: they also validated their ticket for the semi-finals of the 2024 Senior Plus Worlds.

The French had already took the psychological advantage on their opponents of the day during the Open but it was still necessary to confirm during this quarter-final.

The “elders” perfectly launched the team dynamic with quick victories for the pairs Launo / Lagloire (+55) and Carité / Kischkewitz (+50).

Behind, it was Jean-Michel Pequery and Sébastien Corbelli (+45) who sealed the fate of the confrontation with a victory snatched at the end of the suspense against Marcelo Capitani, who needs no introduction, and Lorenzo Verginelli.

The Italians saved their honor during the over-45s match but the die was already made. The fifth game was not played.

The scores:

Olivier Launo / Jean-Marc Lagloire vs Maurizio Serafino / Matteo Bartolini : 6-2, 6-2

Cédric Carité / Nicolas Kischkewitz vs Corrado Graziotti / Fabrizio Anticoli : 6-2, 6-2

Jean-Michel Pequery / Sébastien Corbelli vs Marcelo Federico Capitani / Lorenzo Verginelli : 6-2, 3-6, 7-6

Matthieu Armagnac / Thomas Cazes-Carrere vs Alessio Luchetti / Emanuele Fanti : 6-2, 6-7, 6-1

Adrien Maigret / Moreau Maxime vs German Darío Tamame / Nicola Remedi : not played

This Friday, at 16:00 p.m., the Blues will challenge Spain in a confrontation that promises to be hot!
